One of the things that makes digital storytelling different is potential for non-linearity. We could ask though, if it's not linear, is it a story? But if not, then what is it? This #ds106 blog invites us to look at Karate Kid on Giphy. This gives us dozens of moving snapshots of the story all at once. It's like running the story through a blender and chugging it down with a funnel. We don't get the up and down drama that gives the story a Vonnegutian shape, but rather an impression of what the movie looks like. Maybe storysampling would be a good term for it.
